Goodnight Mr. O'Brien

I feel so odd writing something for my dear friend Coco and it's only been a few months since he started the Tonight Show. My previous post was saying my mix of joy and sadness of the switch of host on The Tonight Show. And now, after 2 weeks of drama and switching host and time slots was just almost too much for me to handle. When the rumor was first going around that Jay Leno was getting his 11:35 spot back, I kind of said "Why I watch Jay at 10...what's the problem?"But I'm just a 20 something girl who's a night owl. And the fighting started, they were mention the "negotiations" on the evening news. When it got to that point, I knew it was for real. So I started to mentally preparing my self for the switch for Jay to be at 11...Conan later blah blah. Suddenly, Coco out of no where and says "No, NBC I'm not moving". I know most of you know the details, even if you don't stay up late so I won't post them here.

I watched Conan's final show tonight. I was expecting laughs, but I wasn't expecting the tender vulnerable feelings that were shown. I cried. I've had a super man crush on Conan for such a long time and to just see him work very hard to have to extra exciting chair on The Tonight Show, it was just perfect for him and I! The show started funny, and ended with a ubber funny rendition of "Free Bird" via Will Ferrel on a few special guests. His final "conversation" that we had was so emotional for me. He started talking about his career and growing into the great genius he is, because of NBC. And now, like some of the relationships in our lives, it was coming to and end. I saw my hero with tears in his eyes....holding back applause from the audience so he could control his emotions as he asked the fans to not be bitter towards anyone(namely NBC or Jay Leno) and not be cynical. A fantastic final monologue, mixed with raw emotion, wisdom, and just a beautiful exit from a handsome funny man.

Conan, I know you'll never read this but I think you're great and wonderful and I can't wait to figure out what you'll do next. Until next time "We're gonna have a great time on TV tonight...stay tuned!"

Family Update

*This is as of Tuesday, January 19, 2010*

Hello everyone, what a year it has been already in my household. Back this summer our little family started apartment hunting. I was sad cause I love my family ward, I really can't stand moving and at that time Dad was working a million hours at work during the summer. I know there are a million single mom's who move their who households and I truly applaud them...but I didn't have a car during the summer since he using that for work. Things are still a little cloudy since the car is still in the shop. When we had the cold snap for a while I guess the auto body shop decided it was to cold to work on any car(I don't blame them it was freezing!) So I'm hoping that everything works out for the best with the car so we can have that as we're making the big move.

The next place for our residence is.......Kent. I've never lived there before, so this will be exciting and scary for me. The Diva is almost nursery age(18months) but with this move, I'm not sure how easy that transition will be. The Prince of course loves nursery, a great chance to get some energy out, have a snack and play with the friends we've made at church. Who knows if he's listening to the lesson that is taught but I know he enjoys his little time with his friends. I will make sure to take pictures when we get settled in and I know that everyone thinks about us and will be sending us prayers. I'm doing alot of downsizing these next few weeks. As sad as the earthquake in Haiti was and is, this is a great oppourtunity for me to give some clothes and bed supplies(blankets, sheets etc) to some great organizations. I'm just suprirsed at Heavenly Father's timing sometimes.

I know there are many of you who read my blog that we visit with on from time to time and we will make sure to continue that tradition. My kids love new places to run around. I will post a new update in a few weeks. Thanks for the good luck and prayers everyone!

Talking non stop

A few weeks ago I had a new post about the whole communication intrest in my house. Most of the day I am talking like an adult to two little people who seem to know what they are saying and look at me why I can't understand them. I will say it's gettting better, but there are still some conversations that are totally clueless. The diva(as I call her) responds like a sponge to sign language and in recent weeks just picks things up so fast, I'm thinking of getting a book so I can teach her a new sign once a week. She really enjoys it and like the interaction of showing you the sign so you can understand what she wants or is saying. She is always saying new words, running around the house and becoming more people friendly. Still not a fan of big crowds, but if you come over my house and it's just you and another person she seems to be okay with that. (No more than 5 people in your party please then the diva comes out!!!)

As for the Prince in the house...I wasn't to sure about him, he was more into phrases rather than just single words. Which is good, I have two kids I can have two different learning styles.I bought the Leap Frog dvd and that's been a fun introduction to the Alphabet. I've really enjoyed his attention being on that for 28 minutes(not like I know how long the dvd is). All of a sudden...he's been saying numbers, new words and looking at me like "Why aren't you keeping up." He's been doing an amazing job listening and helping with household chores. I know this may be boring to you, but it's a huge booster for me. I admit I was comparing my children to other people and just saying"Why don't I have a son who enjoys sitting down at church" or "Why isn't he talking like others(that's my husband's question not mine, I swear!)But as Grandma reminds me all the time, we learn at our own pace and as long as I get the just of what he's saying we'll be in business.

This also seems to be the year of new babies for just about everyone I know! Exciting yes, but I don't have 6 arms so I can make enough baby blankets. And it seems everyone is due at the same time of course! My cousin had her baby a few weeks early but we're having a family dinner in a couple of weeks so I still have time to make the blanket. I feel very blessed to have a great family that is learning and growing! Talk to everyone soon!

Hello 2010!

Hi everyone. I didn't want to bore you all with pictures from our Christmas. I will tell you the N-Twins got A LOT! Our toy chest gets bigger by the day. I was a bad girl and didn't take  any pictures of me on Christmas...oopppss. Sorry. But I did take this picture and I love it because I rarely get pictures of my hubby with the kids. He says he doesn't like cameras. So this is my favorite picture of the new year. :)
