My sister Ashley is going to love this. This was taken at Ashley and Nick's wedding reception on September 13, 2008. I remember the date so well because Ashley told me I have to have Nichelle way in advance so I wouldn't miss the party! Well...I tried my best. Anyways, she looks amazing of course and so does her wonderful husband!

I took this last night after Mr. N crashed! I so meant to have us pose in front of the t.v. during the official ceremony but Mr. N was running too fast! Thank goodness for Motrin! So, here's our official picture of My family with the Obamas!

Mama's Party Time 01-17-09

Well I posted one picture of the cake and cupcakes, which were interesting to make considering Nichelle wanted to stay up and talk to me the whole time. Like I said I was watching a Robert Redford movie called the Last Castle. He looked great in uniform. It was about an old military prison that he(Redford) had been sent to and he raised a revolt against the mean warrant(James Gandolfini). I actually really liked it.

The party was a blast. Uncle(Brenna Gray) has this awesome digital camera so he let me use it and I took some fun pictures of everyone and a few of the cake. It was funny, the party just barely started and I got the chance to nurse Nichelle. I'm like serious? But she's the princess, it's what she wants, not what I want. Plus, it gave people a chance to start chatting and mingle. I was ready to eat afterward though. Nursing makes me so hungry, and for some reason really thirsty too! I was glad that 90% of the people I invited showed up. Even Amber all though she and her babes are totally under the weather. Auntie(Erani Gray) was sharing my visible excitement about the historic day we are all blessed to be watching. I know not everyone agrees with Mr. President Obama (he's man crush #5 on my list) but you have to agree there's gonna be a swinging party. Jordan got me a newspaper this morning. In like 10 years I'll show the N twins and be like see....we're cool aren't we! So, I will update about Nathan condition in a few days. He actually sounds better this morning, and has been sleeping in a constant chunk of time! Yeah!

Nathan update 01-20-09

It's 5:53 am and I'm watching live coverage of all the exciting things the Obamas are going to do today. Ha, I just wrote Obamas and the little dictionary put red line underneath. Ha ha!

I have had little to no sleep in the last...oh four days. Friday night, Nathan started coughing, like I have a cold coughing and I wasn't really sure if he was getting a cold or if he had something in his throat. So I just you know comforted him in bed we read our bedtime story and I was off making Mom's cake and cupcakes for her party. I was watching a Robert Redford(Man crush #15 on my list) movie called Last Castle. I didn't get much sleep worrying about Nathan..so Jordan let me sleep in. I slept in for...I don't know 3 hours straight. Not much to some people but nice for me when I usually get up and take care of Nathan and Nichelle during the night.

Fast Forward to Sunday morning. It's like 5:30 and I hear Nathan. So I get up to check his diaper...normal routine and he's burning up. During Mom's birthday fun, he was happy but fussy at the same time. Well, he was hot, I mean burning, so I gave him some medicine and we went downstairs to watch SpongeBob. He played for a while and then finally went to sleep. He slept pretty well for about a 40 minutes and then suddenly he woke up crying. I couldn't calm him down and Jordan finally twisted my arm about going to the doctor.

Nathan was a riot at the waiting room. Everyone, I mean all 10 people there thought he was a hoot. Which he is. He's been starting to add more vocab to his stand up routine. He was walking around saying hi to everyone and trying to read a magazine with this really nice young man. Finally at like 10:30 the nurse came and got us and drum roll please.....Nathan has an ear infection, and we're still trying to get passed him teething all these molars. The count it up to 4 now. Jeeze. Oh well, I've been at home trying to be a good nurse. I haven't really slept as I said but today is way too historic for me to be sleeping. Nichelle is teething as well and her gums have really been bothering her the past two days. I guess she decided Nathan can't have ALL the attention. Mom spent the night Sunday night since she didn't have to work Monday due to the holiday.

I'm gonna write about Mom's party in another post, but that's the Nathan update!

Wanted to show everyone my new rock star. American Idol starts pretty soon but he's way too young for the auditions. Remember a few years ago when they were holding try outs in Seattle. My husband almost convinced me to go. Ohh I should have done it just for the sake of saying I met Simon Cowell. He's so handsome, maybe that's why he's so mean, cause he knows he's so handsome. Back to Nathan. We were at Amber's house, they got a keyboard for Christmas, and Nathan decided that singing was his new activity at their house. Well, he we are folks. The New American Idol. I'm not surprised how much he enjoys music. I played at church the whole time he was in the womb. Nichelle likes music videos just like Nathan. He's favorite is Beyonce's video "Single Ladies(Put a ring on it). He LOVES it!


I took some more black and white photos at the Gray's house today. I really like them. They still have snow on their pond! Brrr! Uncle said the pond hasn't thawed out in like a month. They said that the ducks do nothing but ice skate all day. I'm not a snow or ice person but it makes wonderful pictures.

I took the Christmas tree down last night. I was kind of sad. Got used to having our 'tree' up for so long. I put that up a few days after Thanksgiving so it was our friend for a month. I don't have a straight picture of the whole thing(must of had Nathans artistic vision while taken the photo) but he enjoyed the tree too! I'm going to make a felt tree for next Christmas. I'm hoping to make it so it's like an advent calendar. That would be "hot", like Miss Paris Hilton says. It's bedtime for me and the princess....Master Nathan is already asleep.

Nichelle is teething already. I am so...well not in shock I've done this before. Maybe I just didn't expect it so soon. She's only 4 months old kids(okay not offically until next Thursday!) I'm a tad bit scared since I'm nursing but wish me luck!

I'm really bad at updates....

So, it's almost Christmas time and I'm really excited. Instead of a tree, we're using construction paper that I made into a tree. I have a 15 month old who's stronger than Superman, a real tree wouldn't make it. I like it actually. I've been putting our advent calendar on it. So slowly Mary, Joseph, the Wise Men and Jesus are making their way to the stable. It's fun putting up another character each day.

Mr.N. What can I say? He's made the transition to his toddler bed but some how it takes him longer to get to sleep. So I've been falling asleep waiting for him to go to sleep, and wondering why I can't get to sleep till after midnight. Which, taking naps isn't a bad thing, just isn't always fun if I'm tired. He's doing really well playing with Princess. I wish he was a tad bit more gentle but I'm crossing my fingers it comes with time!!! Wish me luck! He tries to pick her up all the time, so I just hope she's okay. She's a tough cookie already(have to be around Nate) and doesn't mind the tough love.

The Princess is an angel of course! She is really good about talking with Mr.N and letting him know that he's a very funny comic. We've been doing crafts for Christmas at night after Nate goes to sleep. I've been getting in the Christmas spirit that way and it's a blast. I'm in the middle of cross stitching a few ornaments for my great aunties. I like them, so where's mine? Oh well there's always next year.

Jordan started a new job this week. He's delivering pizzas. Not bad actually, just the weather sucks in my opinion. Can't believe how cold it's been. What a week to start doing that huh? But he's been layering up and that makes it okay for him I guess. NO complaints yet. Mom on the other hand has been a solider getting back and forth to work on the bus. Since it's almost winter, it's so dark early and late in the day so I'm sure she feels alone most of the time walking to the bus stop.

I'm almost done with our Christmas postcards. I can't wait to get that off of my plate. I was really surprised I wrote 100 of those. And of course each one had to be different. I couldn't say the same thing on each one. Mom teases me about that. Well, have to try to get Mr.N asleep again. I will blog soon.
